Our Story

Stecchini di Bassano-Venezia is one of the oldest families in Bassano, whose citizenship was aggregated in 1421 and was part of the Noble Council. It was confirmed in its nobility by sovereign resolution on 21 September 1821. A branch of this family transplanted to Venice in the 17th century to engage in the silk trade, which was part of its fortune.
In the area of Romano D'Ezzelino there was an estate, with a mill and a house, belonging to Giacomo Da Roman in the 17th century. He ceded it in 1650 to his nephew, Abbot Jacopo Stecchini, who commissioned the current complex to show off the economic position he had achieved and the recognition of the title of noble Venetian.
The Stecchini family still lives in the villa today. It is one of the few remaining Venetian villas still inhabited by the family that first built it.
